Bradley Fretwell - suitably pleased after going solo (Feb 2010)
Bradley was sent solo on his 16th birthday, by his Father, Colin after a frantic morning organising a medical.
Thanks to all who assisted on the day and with Bradley's training.
2009 KGC Christmas Dinner & Awards
Despite it being a bitterly cold night in early December, the clubhouse was the scene for the Kent Gliding Club Christmas Dinner and the handing out of achievment awards for the year. The event was well attended with over 50 pilots & partners enjoying the chance to meet, chat, eat, drink and celebrate their successes from a good soaring year.
A big thanks to all those who helped organise and congratulations to the prize winners. I have created a composite image for you to spot all those well known 'celebrity' faces.
Special thanks to Max Couch for his excellent after dinner speech and in particular, a wonderfully funny musical interlude where he sang a song about the club based on Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines accompanying himself on the banjo.

Ollie Beams - Solo on his 16th birthday

A great story for the club - look out for the full details in S & G soon. Ollie was sent solo by his father, Dave Beams & towed by his grandfather, Dave Manser. Three generations sharing this memorable day, 10th December 2009. Well done Ollie.
